Maintaining Perennials for Cut Flower Production with Mayan Vered, Owner/Operator of Flowerface

A farm tour and overview of perennial plants useful for cut flower production. We'll go over maintenance and culture of herbaceous and woody perennials and how they can fit into your  farm context.

Mayan runs Flowerface, a 1-acre cut flower farm on the Sa’anich peninsula, growing a wide variety of unique cut flowers, foliage, grasses and perennials. Mayan has a horticultural certificate from UBC and a decade of experience in the horticultural field. Flowerface started as a multi-site urban farm in Vancouver in 2015 and has evolved to a permanent home on Vancouver Island. Flowerface is based on a strong horticultural background brought to a farming lens and is a unique farm in its layout and use of perennial plantings.
